Mercer County -  Bridge Replacement - The project consists of a new replacement single span (142.5’ span), steel plate girder bridge to carry Irishtown Road (S.R. 2005) over the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad (B&LE) Railroad in Pine Township. The proposed structure presented vertical profile challenges requiring railroad clearance and roadway tie-ins to at-grade intersections on each side of the structure. The project utilizes a local detour route in coordination with local officials and emergency responders. Additional design considerations included railroad coordination and clearance, overhead utility relocations and waterway permitting requirements.
